With the ASPHALTKIND "Cropfiber" roof box, we want to demonstrate what is possible. Like a Formula 1 car, for example, it is a showcase for technology and materials. The only difference is that, unlike a race car, you can buy one for yourself.

Who benefits? The customer and, in our case, the planet too.

It was clear from the outset that we would be launching a benchmark product. Detached from all conventions.

In addition to timeless design and aerodynamics on par with aircraft wings, weight and stability play a very important role for us.

This can be achieved using fiber composites, which everyone is familiar with. Carbon fiber, for example, also enhances the appearance. Carbon is often used to improve the overall look of a vehicle and to reduce weight.

As beautiful as carbon is, it is very energy-intensive to manufacture and recycle, and therefore has an extremely high carbon footprint.

Nevertheless, we do not want to forego lightweight construction and have been searching for an alternative, which we are bringing to the road with the roof box from the laboratory: high-tech fibers made from renewable raw materials. Car manufacturers such as Porsche are already using CO₂-neutral fiber composites in racing and demonstrating what is possible. We are working with similar fibers and developing even better solutions.

Our top priority: We will not compromise on appearance, weight, or stability. Depending on the design, our fiber composite material "Cropfiber" is indistinguishable from carbon fiber.

But we are all a little bit individualistic: we want to stand out and show the world that, without having to make any compromises, we can reduce CO₂ emissions and do something good for the planet with this material and optional clear coat. Without any driving bans or discussions, by tackling a (r)evolution in fiber materials.
