A Lamborghini Huracán with a roof rack in the snow in St. Moritz
A black Lamborghini Huracán.
Snow-covered roads in the Swiss Alps.
And an ASPHALTKIND Performance roof box on the roof.
It is precisely these kinds of combinations that explain our concept better than any traditional product description.
After all, the Huracán wasn't designed to be a touring car.
But that's exactly why it's exciting to use it for a trip.
If you're bringing enough luggage, that's one less reason to take an SUV to St. Moritz instead of a Lamborghini.
Can you mount a roof box on a Lamborghini Huracán?
Yes. Even a Lamborghini Huracán can be equipped with a suitable mounting system and a roof box.
Of course, this supercar doesn't have traditional roof rails.
However, that does not mean that additional storage space on the roof is out of the question.
Depending on the vehicle model, roof type, and individual configuration, different roof rack systems may be suitable.
For suitable vehicles, we use vacuum carrier systems, for example. Other versions, on the other hand, require their own mechanical solution.
For the Huracán STO, we developed a vehicle-specific mounting system for precisely this reason.
That's why we don't just look at the roof box. We always consider the entire vehicle.
Why the Huracán Is the Perfect Fit for Travel Performance
Hardly any other car embodies the classic idea of a modern supercar as clearly as the Huracán.
Flat.
Loud.
Emotional.
And it's anything but optimized for maximum trunk space.
That is precisely why, in our view, the vehicle fits very well with the ASPHALTKIND concept.
We don't want to make exceptional cars more practical by changing their character.
Instead, we specifically address the problem that often limits their use on longer trips.
Not enough space.
As soon as this problem becomes less of an issue, the types of trips we can take will change as well.
To St. Moritz in a Lamborghini Huracán
We took the Huracán, equipped with an ASPHALTKIND Performance roof box, for a spin in St. Moritz and on the roads of the Swiss Alps, among other places.
It's precisely there that the combination suddenly makes a lot of sense.
The roads leading into the mountains are the kind of routes a supercar seems to be built for.
Curves.
Differences in elevation.
Stunning scenery.
And a destination where you don't have to wait until you get to the hotel to start having fun.
In the Huracán, even the drive there is part of the vacation.
That's exactly why a lack of trunk space shouldn't be the deciding factor in which car comes out of the garage.
A ski box on a Lamborghini?
Especially when it comes to St. Moritz, the question naturally arises.
Can a roof box on a Lamborghini really work for a winter trip or a ski vacation?
For us, that is precisely one of the most interesting use cases.
Winter clothes take up more space than summer clothes. Jackets, shoes, and other gear also need to be packed.
On longer trips, space requirements therefore increase particularly quickly.
A large roof box makes a big difference.
The Lamborghini is still the same supercar—but suddenly, luggage no longer has to be the deciding factor when choosing a car.
About 400 liters of additional storage space in the Huracán
Our Performance roof box provides approximately 400 liters of additional volume.
In a supercar, that makes a significant difference.
Bags, clothing, and other travel items can be stored in the roof box. At the same time, the vehicle's existing storage space remains available for other items.
This makes it much easier to turn a short drive into a road trip lasting several days.
For us, that is the product's true value.
More car use rather than greater convenience at any cost.
Why We Don't Just Put Any Old Roof Box on a Lamborghini
From a technical standpoint, storage space alone would be relatively easy to solve.
You could choose a large box and pack as much as possible into it.
But for us, that's not enough in a Lamborghini.
The Huracán's shape is an essential part of its character.
That's why the roof box must also be in proportion to the vehicle and match it in terms of material and positioning.
Our design is intentionally flat and elongated.
At the same time, we manufacture the Performance roof box out of carbon fiber.
The result is a product that fits much more seamlessly into the Lamborghini world than a traditional plastic box.
A roof box on a supercar can certainly stand out. It just shouldn't look out of place.
From the Huracán to the Huracán STO: Not every version requires the same solution
The term “Lamborghini Huracán” encompasses a wide variety of vehicle versions.
And that is exactly why a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work for us.
A Huracán EVO has different requirements than a Huracán STO with significant aerodynamic modifications.
With STO, for example, simply replicating an existing solution is not enough.
That is why we developed a custom base carrier system for this vehicle.
That experience continues to influence our work on other supercars today.
The more specialized the car, the more important it is to take the specific vehicle into account.
Vacuum mounting system or a custom base mount?
One of the most common questions is therefore: How do you even mount a roof box on a Lamborghini without roof rails?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to that.
For suitable roof surfaces, a vacuum-mounted system can be a very flexible solution.
Several vacuum suction cups secure the system to the vehicle. After the trip, the system can be removed again.
For other vehicles or specific body styles, however, a dedicated mechanical connection makes more sense.
That is why we check the specific vehicle model for every inquiry.
It's not about making the vehicle fit an existing carrier. We're looking for the right solution for the vehicle.
Carbon Fiber Is a Perfect Match for the Lamborghini Huracán
Carbon fiber is already an integral part of the Huracán's performance world.
This material is used in numerous aerodynamic and visual components, particularly in special variants.
That's why our carbon-fiber roof box also complements the vehicle's design.
We manufacture them at our own fiber-reinforced composite production facility in Germany.
After that, we can customize the interface.
Possible examples include:
- Exposed carbon fiber
- Gloss black
- Matte black
- Custom body color paint finish
- custom color accents
- Stripes and Graphic Elements
- ASPHALTKIND branding
- completely clean finish
This allows the roof box to be adapted to the specific configuration.
The same Huracán in a different color can therefore also be equipped with a completely different roof box.
You should hardly notice a roof box at all
One of our most important product concepts also applies to the Huracán.
A roof box should attract as little unwanted attention as possible while driving.
On the other hand, it can certainly stand out in a positive way.
More luggage capacity.
An unusual look.
And a car that already turns heads.
That's why, during the development process, we don't just focus on volume.
Aerodynamics, stability, lightweight construction, design, and vehicle integration are just as much a part of it.
For us, performance doesn't stop at the vehicle's roof.
The Huracán belongs on the road—not just in a collection
Many exceptional vehicles spend a large part of their lives in garages and collections.
Of course, there's no reason not to keep them.
But personally, we prefer a different approach to cars like these.
We'd like to travel with them.
Traveling through Europe.
Experience Alpine Passes.
Attend events.
And to be stuck in the snow in a Lamborghini, just for once.
After all, a supercar rarely creates its most memorable moments while sitting still.
We are developing ASPHALTKIND specifically for this purpose.

Lamborghini Huracán with a roof rack: One less reason to choose an SUV
Of course, the Huracán remains an impractical supercar.
And that's how it should stay.
We don't want to turn him into something he was never meant to be.
We just want to make a problem a little smaller.
Insufficient storage capacity.
Then a weekend can easily turn into a road trip.
Turning a drive into a journey.
And from the question “Will the luggage fit?” comes the much more interesting question:
Which road should we take to St. Moritz?
Travel Performance for Extraordinary Vehicles.
Do you drive a Lamborghini Huracán and want to configure an ASPHALTKIND Performance roof box for your car?
We customize the roof box, finish, design, and mounting system to perfectly match your Lamborghini.
