From St. Moritz via Hamburg to the Nürburgring Nordschleife
September 2022 was a very special month for our company, Cropfiber GmbH, with its ASPHALTKIND brand!
Right at the beginning of the month, we celebrated the official market launch of our ASPHALTKIND roof boxwith a trip to St. Moritz for the Kilomètre Lancé, the "Top International Sprint for Record Breaking Vehicles."
After that, we made a short stop at beautiful mountain serpentines in Munich, Ingolstadt, and the surrounding area, before heading to Hamburg! There, we visited a few hotspots for photos and exposed the aerodynamic roof box to curious glances.
With a roof box on the Nürburgring Nordschleife
Driving on the legendary track in the Eifel region is a must for all car manufacturers, including BMW, Audi, Porsche, Mercedes, and now Tesla. So it's also the perfect environment for our ASPHALTKIND roof box! Between prototypes, tourist drives, and track day enthusiasts, we took to the ring in ideal conditions. Our goal: to prove that our roof box is suitable for high speeds.
Our race car driver, equipped with a helmet and racing suit, who knows the track inside out, did not go easy on the equipment. Both the car and the roof box experienced significant lateral and longitudinal dynamic forces that cannot be achieved in normal road traffic.
A lap time of 08:20 minutes recorded by the Sport Chrono Package and the rather worn road tire sidewalls underscore the (cornering) speeds that were achieved. Of course, this did not go unnoticed by the spectators and photographers at Brünnchen, Schwalbenschwanz, and Caracciola-Karussell, and we received a lot of positive feedback and conversation topics in addition to photos!

The cornering speeds were just below the point where we would end up in the guardrail. The deceleration values, i.e., braking from high speeds towards a tight cornering radius, were impressive and exactly the right terrain for the large brakes.
