Lamborghini Temerario Roof Box | ASPHALTKIND

by Nils

A Lamborghini Temerario for a road trip – why not?

A Lamborghini is not purchased because it is particularly practical.

And that is precisely not what it is meant to be.

However, from our own experience, we know a situation where even the most emotional supercar can lose to an SUV:

when two people travel for several days and the luggage simply does not fit.

We have traveled to St. Moritz with Lamborghini, Ferrari, and McLaren, driven an Aventador around Lake Como, and experienced firsthand how much additional storage capacity transforms the usability of such a vehicle.

Because as soon as bags, jackets, and travel luggage find their place, the question of which car would be more practical ceases to exist.

Then there is only one question left:

Which car do we want to take for this road?

It was precisely this thought that gave rise to ASPHALTKIND Travel Performance.

And that is exactly why the new Lamborghini Temerario is such a particularly exciting vehicle for us.

Can you mount a roof box on a Lamborghini Temerario?

Fundamentally, yes. Even a supercar without traditional roof rails can be equipped with a suitable mounting solution for a performance roof box.

However, in the case of the Lamborghini Temerario, there is no conventional roof rack that you simply select from an accessory catalog.

Therefore, we first analyze the vehicle, the roof surface, and the individual specifications. We then determine which attachment solution works best both technically and aesthetically.

On many supercars, for example, we utilize vacuum mounting systems. Multiple vacuum suction cups connect the system securely to suitable body panels of the vehicle, eliminating the need for a traditional roof rail.

Other vehicles, by contrast, require a bespoke engineering solution.

For the Porsche 992 GT3 RS, we developed a dedicated base carrier specifically for this purpose. A vehicle-specific mounting interface was also engineered for the Lamborghini Huracán STO.

Consequently, we finalize the ultimate Temerario configuration directly on the specific vehicle.

A roof box on a Temerario must never be a downgrade.

This is one of our core product philosophies.

A roof box is designed to create additional storage space.

However, it must never make an extraordinary car suddenly feel ordinary.

Especially with a Lamborghini, it is therefore insufficient to simply mount just any large plastic box onto the roof.

Design, material, mounting system, and vehicle must form a cohesive unit.

You should notice the roof box as little as possible – except for the fact that you can bring more along, and that people will turn their heads to look.

This exact combination of function and emotion has been the driving force behind our development from the very beginning.

The Temerario offers more luggage space – but a true road trip requires more.

Lamborghini has designed the Temerario to be significantly more travel-friendly than many traditional supercars.

According to the manufacturer, the front trunk provides 112 liters of luggage capacity, which is enough to accommodate approximately two cabin trolleys. Additionally, the interior offers further storage space behind the seats.

This may already suffice for a weekend getaway.

However, space requirements quickly increase as soon as two people are travelling for an extended period.

Alongside the actual bags, items such as jackets, shoes, and additional equipment must also be accommodated. Space requirements further increase in winter. Moreover, during a track day, helmets, apparel, or other accessories need to be stored somewhere.

This is precisely where additional storage space fundamentally transforms the vehicle's utility.

Not because this makes the Temerario more practical than an SUV, but because you suddenly no longer need the SUV.

Approximately 400 liters of additional storage space

The ASPHALTKIND performance roof box provides approximately 400 liters of additional volume.

This creates an entirely different travel experience in a supercar.

The Temerario's existing storage space can continue to accommodate smaller and heavier items. At the same time, bags, clothing, and other travel luggage find their place in the roof box.

Above all, this transforms the decision-making process before departure.

Perhaps the journey leads across the Alps to St. Moritz.

Perhaps the route heads to Lake Como.

Or a planned weekend trip spontaneously turns into a week-long journey.

The lack of trunk space no longer dictates which car is chosen for the trip.

What we have learned from the Aventador, Huracán, and STO

While the Temerario is a new vehicle for us, the concept of fitting a roof box to a Lamborghini is not.

ASPHALTKIND roof boxes have already been deployed on various Lamborghini models.

These include the Huracán, Huracán STO, Aventador, and Urus, among others.

For instance, we traveled to Lake Como and St. Moritz with an Aventador. We also drove a Huracán equipped with a roof box through the Swiss Alps. In the case of the Huracán STO, we even developed a dedicated, vehicle-specific carrier system.

These vehicles have taught us something crucial:

A roof box on a supercar is not merely a visual gimmick. When engineered correctly, it fundamentally alters how the car is utilized.

You suddenly choose to take the Lamborghini on journeys where another vehicle would previously have been the default choice.

Why the connection to the vehicle is just as important as the roof box

With conventional vehicles, a roof rack can often be selected simply by using a vehicle list.

This approach does not always work with supercars.

Roof geometry, carbon fiber components, glass surfaces, aerodynamics, and individual specifications can all influence the possible positioning.

This is why we treat the rack system as an integral part of the development process at ASPHALTKIND.

For suitable vehicles, a vacuum system can be an exceptionally elegant solution, allowing for rapid mounting and equally quick removal.

For other vehicles, however, we develop custom mechanical mounting solutions.

Therefore, for the Temerario, we inspect the specific vehicle and tailor the final rack solution accordingly.

The vehicle does not have to adapt to our rack. The rack must adapt to the vehicle.

Carbon fiber matches the character of the Lamborghini Temerario

The Temerario combines extreme performance with uncompromising lightweight construction.

Consequently, carbon fiber also aligns exceptionally well with our design philosophy.

We manufacture the ASPHALTKIND performance roof box from carbon fiber in our dedicated fiber composite production facility in Germany.

In this context, the material serves more than just a structural purpose.

It simultaneously becomes an extension of the vehicle's aesthetic.

Depending on the configuration, we can style the roof box in the following ways, for example:

  • Exposed carbon fiber
  • Gloss black
  • Matte black
  • Custom paint finish matching the exterior color
  • custom color accents
  • Stripes or graphic elements
  • ASPHALTKIND branding
  • completely clean finish

Particularly with a Lamborghini individually configured via Ad Personam, we can incorporate existing paint finishes, carbon fiber components, and design details directly into the roof box.

Our goal is not simply to mount a box onto the car. Our goal is to ensure the vehicle and roof box form a cohesive unit.

Performance doesn't stop at the engine.

The Lamborghini Temerario features 920 CV of system output and achieves a manufacturer-stated top speed of up to 343 km/h.

Naturally, this does not mean that a roof box is intended for such speeds.

However, these figures clearly illustrate the automotive tier in which we operate.

This is why we approach aerodynamics, stability, weight, and rack systems differently for a performance roof box compared to a conventional daily driver.

Precisely these four areas have driven our development since the inception of the first ASPHALTKIND and Cropfiber roof boxes:

  • Aerodynamics
  • Stability
  • Lightweight construction
  • Design

Today, another factor has been added:

the seamless integration into increasingly specialized vehicles.

This is the domain from which developments such as our GT3 RS rack system or the solution for the Huracán STO originated.

Why St. Moritz and Como are more than just photo backdrops to us

Many of our images are captured in locations like St. Moritz or Lake Como.

Naturally, supercars look striking in those settings.

However, that is not the sole purpose.

We actually drive these vehicles to these destinations.

We experience snow-covered Alpine passes with Ferrari and McLaren. We drive Lamborghinis through the Swiss mountains. And we park an Aventador equipped with a roof box by Lake Como.

This quickly makes it clear why ASPHALTKIND exists in the first place.

With vehicles of this caliber, the journey is part of the destination.

A trip to St. Moritz does not begin upon arrival at the hotel.

It begins on the first great road leading there.

And precisely for that reason, a lack of storage space should not dictate whether you take that road in a Lamborghini or an SUV.

The Lamborghini Temerario as a genuine grand tourer

Naturally, the Temerario remains a supercar.

That is precisely what makes the concept compelling.

We have no intention of turning it into a utilitarian vehicle.

Instead, our goal is to provide a solution that enables it to be used more frequently for genuine touring.

More luggage capacity.

Expanded possibilities.

Above all, more mileage in the car you actually want to drive.

That is Travel Performance.
