Once it became clear that the56° Nord roof boxwouldnotbe comingonto the market, we decided to design our own our own roof box. This box would alsobe able to withstandhigher speeds and would have a strongfocus on aerodynamics and design. And after two years of development, we have finally achieved this: the development of aroof box for sports cars. Built for coupes, Avants, station wagons, and SUVs.
We are delighted to announce that you cannoworder ourASPHALTKIND roof box . . The first generation will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 222 andwillinitiallybelimited to aquantity of 100. So be quick, because the first roof boxes have already been pre-ordered.
As promised, we will keep you up to date. Anyone who has been following our blog for a while knows that we were actually only trying to find a suitable roof box for our 911 that didn't require us to make any compromises.
To keep it short: we couldn't find anything on the market that satisfied us. Poor aerodynamics, low material stability, high weight, and above all, lousy design that simply didn't match the car's lines.
We have gone through all the boxes.
We have also had a chance to examine the 56Nord Box, whose specifications and design appear impressive on paper.
Like many other boxes, the roof box pictures look quite good when photographed from a certain angle. In reality, when used on standard cars and base carriers, compromises ultimately have to be made again.
In short: we internally concluded the topic of "finding the perfect roof box on the market."
A new chapter for Asphaltkind
As we announced to selected contacts several months ago, we are currently developing a roof box ourselves , focusing on aerodynamics, stability, weight, and design. These are precisely the issues that have always bothered us and for which there has been no satisfactory solution to date.
This also marks the beginning of a new chapter for Asphaltkind. Behind the scenes, we have transformed ourselves from a blog that originally just wanted to make the Porsche 911 even more suitable for everyday use into a company dedicated to developing the perfect roof box. Our team has been working on the design and key features for several months now, always keeping our experience and standards in mind. It's important to note that our roof box will look perfect on almost any car model, from the Audi A6 to the Porsche 911, the Mercedes C-, E-, and GLC-Class, the BMW X6, Tesla models, and all comparable models.
It will be uncompromising
We focused on the coupe-like lines that almost every modern car has nowadays. Even station wagons increasingly have a sloping rear end. This is exactly where we started. If you are interested, you can request a detailed list of the models we had in mind.
Automotive design and customer demands have changed significantly in recent years. The roof box market, on the other hand, continues to produce the same old stuff. Until now. (: Because from now on, there will be no compromises!
