Once it became clear that the56° Nord roof box wouldn'tbe comingto market, we decided to design our design our own roof box. It’s designedto withstandhigher speeds and places a strongemphasis on aerodynamics and design. And after two years of development, we’ve finally succeeded: the development of aroof box for sports cars. Built for coupes, sedans, station wagons, and SUVs.
We are pleased to announce that youcannow order . The first generation will be shipped in the fourth quarter of 2022 andwillinitiallybelimited to arun of just100 units. So act fast—the first roof boxes have already been pre-ordered.
EDIT November 2019:
We spent over a year testing various roof boxes. However, none of them fully met our expectations, as you can read in thetest reports. So, in mid-2019, we set out to develop our own roof box.
We combine the perfect design, aerodynamic shaping, high stability, and low weight.
What makes this special is that we’re limiting the car models for which we recommend the box. A detailed list will be available soon. But for now, let’s just say we plan to cover most models from BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, and Tesla. Even though the blog is a bit Porsche- and 911-heavy right now, that’s simply because this is our own car—which sets the bar very high, so you won’t have to make any compromises with your own model either.

Update zur 56 Nord Dachbox!
Wie wir ja bereits im Dezember 2018, in unserem Beitrag (hier lesen) angekündigt haben, bleiben wir an 56 Nord dran. Nach wie vor wollen wir rausfinden, ob es diese Dachboxen aus ABS und Carbon wirklich gibt.
Um an neue Informationen zu kommen bzw. um mit der Firma 56 Nord in Kontakt zu treten, haben wir unzählige Emails geschrieben, telefoniert und letztendlich auch Kilometer gefressen. Aber die Mühen waren nicht vergebens.
Wir haben eine Dachbox aus Carbon von 56 Nord zu sehen bekommen. Die Optik der Dachbox ist echt ganz gut. Der Gesamteindruck wurde allerdings durch die Verarbeitung etwas eingetrübt. Scheinbar handelte es bei der Box um ein Vor-Vorserienmodell. Nichtsdestotrotz ist das Konzept der Dachbox stimmig. Unsere „Recherche“ ergab auch, dass es tatsächlich einen großen Markt für sportlich aussehende Dachboxen, die auch für Geschwindigkeiten jenseits der 130 km/h gut sind, gibt. Wir haben mit vielen Händlern, auch im europäischen Ausland gesprochen, die sofort eine solche Dachbox in ihrem Programm aufnehmen würden.
